Hello Bitches!
See what happens when you miss a show? We promised a week of surprises on Derek and Romaine and this time, we delivered. Friday’s show contained a live press conference with representatives from the Howard 100 News, The Advocate, Velvet Park Magazine and GO NYC. The big news? Romaine is seventeen weeks pregnant. The baby is due July 11th and I am certain we can all expect daily updates from Romaine as she grows larger and crankier by the day! In other surprises, winners were finally revealed in the Queer Favorites on Tuesday night. Winners who joined the show included: Margaret Cho (Favorite Comedian), CNN News Anchor Thomas Roberts (Newsmaker of the Year), Project Runway star Tim Gunn (Favorite Unscripted Performer and Favorite Celebrity Pitchperson), Kate Bornstein (Favorite Author), Todd Stephens (Director) and Michael Carbanaro (star) accepting the award for Favorite Theatrical Film for Another Gay Movie, and Ana Ortiz (Justin’s mom Hilda) accepting the award for Favorite Scripted TV Series on behalf of the cast and crew of Ugly Betty. The winners joined numerous celebrity presenters including George Takei, Madame, and Fred Schneider of the B-52s. The Scissor Sisters won for Favorite Singer/Musician and Sir Ian McKellen was the winner for Favorite Theatrical Performer. Unfortunately both were off the continent and unable to accept in person, however, they will be appear on the show in the coming weeks to belatedly accept the honors and take some calls. Overall the awards were an exciting three hours filled with celebrities and surprises!
Also dropping by this past week: Cyd Zeigler of OutSports.com who helped make some Super Bowl predictions. Cyd brought along pictures of the various players and Derek and Romaine chose which team they thought might win based on who they thought was the most attractive. Romaine, who picked the last three Super Bowl champions in a row this year fumbled with her selection of the Chicago Bears, while Derek made the victorious choice of the Colts, helped of course because Peyton Manning didn’t choke like a virgin on her wedding night. Chi Chi La Rue joined in the fun on Thursday night as well, dishing about the upcoming GayVN awards as well as some of her favorite filthy porn pups.
